Thembz is a proudly South African “Radio Broadcaster” who started her radio journey after high school. She is driven by the love of entertaining, sharing jokes and her keenness to see others happy.
Thembz is passionate about serving a people, society and nation that is why she regards radio her calling for it is about transforming lives and being the voice of the voiceless. In 2014 she enrolled at Intec College to study Radio Broadcasting after being told by her sister that her being the families entertainer might be more than that and that’s how her radio bug was discovered.
In 2016 she joined Provantage Media Group to do a Marketing internship that she completed and obtained in 2017 in hopes to widen her knowledge on how to market herself to different radio stations. Thembz got her first radio break in 2018 as a volunteer at a station called 1485 Radio Today based in North riding where she took on the role of being a producer for a show called In The Mood but that was just the beginning. She later fell in love with the mic and ended up doing a 1hour slot of 5am-6am called The Morning Fix to standing in for on leave presenters doing 12:00-15:00 on Miller Time.
In 2020 when the pandemic hit she was forced to part ways with her station but her objective being impacting lives she never gave up. On the 3rd of October 2020 she was a student of the I Was Born To Speak On Radio 12 part learning program by Leadership2020, applied herself and excelled making her one of the top5 students who got the opportunity to intern at Massiv Metro on Penny Lebyanes breakfast show and obtaining two certificates from the program.
In December 2020 she got the opportunity of a life time where she joined DJ Sbu and his team for The Worlds Longest Marathon Radio Show where they broke the record making her part of history having interviewed the likes of DJ Black Coffee, Sun El Musician, Simmy, Mhaw Keys and rubbing shoulders with Sello Maake kaNcube.
On the 2nd of March 2021 she learnt the importance of giving back through an event she facilitated alongside DJ Sbu and the Homegrown team at The Siyazigabisa Home Of Hope in Tembisa. She is currently a drive time host on Homegrown Radio for The She Drive alongside Ntando Shabalala, Hlatsola Phaka & Phatudi Modiba and also the stations merchandise designer as her other passion is in Fashion Designing which she hopes to pursue in future. She has had the privilege to do Outside Broadcasts at Artyli.com under the leadership and supervision of Tony Friday.
Thembz personal interests is to take it back home to the Eastern Capes dusty streets to give back to her community by investing back in its youths future inspired by her leaders Nicolas Regisford and Sbusiso Leope for their keenness to unearth her talent.
