School vs Life

School vs Life

School is great and stay in school kids! And that is definitely my advice bro. It’s cool and stuff, especially if it is still completely challenging you. Because it’s never about the destination but it is always about the process. Although after 2/3 years of consistently moderate to heavy studying. Studying is damn fun, way too easy if you know what you’re doing. You always find those trick words or phrases in the books that will grantee your distinction. And why not? You went the extra mile to be different, distinct bro! Maths is another avenue, just was fun although different rules (so is life). You don’t have to remember the street names because those could change but when you take a left always remember to follow up with a quick right. You won’t get lost! Just keep within the guidelines. Sounds simple enough but then you realise now there is 5 different lefts you could take. And what if you miss the first right then what? “Should I take the next right?” If you ever went there by the streets, they will tell you that 2 lefts make a right sis! “But that is not what they taught me at school”. Yeah but if you think you can approach a maths problem with just one method, you’re wrong! “But school only taught me one method”. And so maybe that is the problem. You are trying to live life but at school you are only presented with the programmed solution of how to do it and when a challenge confronts you, you then panic. There by the streets they know what it’s like! They have seen it all been it all. You might think you are moving different but only to find yourself at their doorstep asking for directions. Challenged or not when attempting mathematics you have to at least try all methods you have access too because after all it is all just practice of what could come in the test. Life is always testing you and if you don’t know for instance, how to be cool with people how do you expect you will ask help from them when you have no other choice. The spectrum of life is a topic for another day. But within the spectrum if you were to observe three types of people, two on opposite poles and the 3rd in the middle. Assume their differences lie on one being super focus at school and the other ‘super focus in life’. The mid-point would be the balance where you want to be. The burn out of being too focus at school is losing social experiences that you forever long and fill with success that you keep chasing cause it’s never enough fulfilment. The too focus in life is obviously the rebel in the system of capitalism and so they will tell you that’s the devil but only another brother just like you. Because he lives here and now in the present, he is crucified for not falling for trapped monopolistic system of depression. No one knows what the future holds but being with people you love today creating memories you can cherish should always be the ultimate goal. The problem lies in the fact that we’ve been feed into this inescapable system that even when you win the ultimate goal you lose preparation time for what they call success. And to add to that, balance is hard to find when you being oppressed to make if harder to achieve either without leaning more into that pole then the other. But being black alone has you successful with your people if you don’t forget to learn from them too. Thank you
